The data in the Knot Atlas is almost fully user-editable. The good is that it is likely to grow more complete than any other knot theory data and knowledge base. The bad is that people can unwittingly introduce errors. By inspecting Recent Changes and by other means, Dror, Scott and their robots routinely patrol the Knot Atlas and errors are likely to be caught rather quickly in most cases. But hey, nobody's perfect.

Needless to say, the information in the Knot Atlas should not be used in life saving devices.
